Dr. Sama Banaei was born and raised here in Calgary. He fulfilled his childhood dream by earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Alberta where he played a vital role as the Creator and Co-Founder of Pathways to Dentistry. This groundbreaking initiative has successfully raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to provide scholarships to economically disadvantaged students aspiring to become dentists. Driven by a passion to help, Dr. Sama has also travelled abroad to Guatemala where he provided emergency and restorative treatment to those without access to appropriate dental care.
After gaining valuable experience working in Northern Alberta for a year, Dr. Sama is thrilled to join the Eversmile Dental team, be part of a vibrant community, and serve his hometown.
Dr. Sama prides himself in taking a comprehensive approach to his care. He believes in empowering his patients by explaining all available treatment options, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding their oral health. He is continuously expanding his skillset and knowledge to provide his highest standard of care. Dr. Sama loves getting to know his patients on a personal level and establishing meaningful connections.
When not at the clinic, Dr. Sama can be found passionately cheering on the Calgary Flames. He maintains an active lifestyle participating in basketball and hockey. Moreover, he takes full advantage of the diverse array of events and festivities the city has to offer, further enriching his connection with the community.
